USDA forecasts that sunflower seeds production in Ukraine will grow by 11%
The production of oilseeds in Ukraine in 2025/26 MY will amount to 24.7 mln tonnes, up 4% compared to the current season (23.8 mln tonnes).
This forecast was made by the analysts of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Thus, in 2025/26 MY Ukraine will produce 14.4 mln tonnes of sunflower seeds, up 11% compared to last year. The planted areas will amount to about 6 mln ha, with the yield of 2.40 t/ha.
The soybean harvest in Ukraine is forecast at 6.6 million tons (-6%), the area will decrease to 2.6 million hectares, although the average yield will be slightly higher – 2.54 t/ha.
According to the USDA, rapeseed production will decrease to 2.85 mln tons (-3%), the area under crops will be 1.3 mln hectares, and the yield will be 2.85 t/ha.
