USDA forecasts growth in pig farming in Ukraine
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts that Ukraine will increase pig production in 2026.
This is stated in the agency’s April report.
Experts note that at the beginning of the year, the pig population is estimated at 4.74 million heads, which is 120 thousand more than last year.
According to USDA analysts, Ukraine will raise 8.25 million pigs in a year. This is 350 thousand more than last year’s production.
At the same time, pig imports are expected to be at the level of 9 thousand heads (+1 thousand heads).
It is predicted that 1.3 billion pigs will be raised in the world this year, which corresponds to last year’s volumes.
