USDA forecasts growth in chicken production in Ukraine
Chicken production in Ukraine in 2026 will amount to 1.44 million tons, which is 30 thousand tons more than the current year’s estimate and 50 thousand tons more than the 2024 figure.
This is stated in the report of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Experts forecast that chicken exports next year will increase to 490 thousand tons, from 470 thousand tons in 2025. For comparison: in 2024 this figure was 463 thousand tons.
According to the USDA, domestic chicken consumption in 2026 will increase due to the population’s transition from other types of meat. This is due to the difference in price and the opinion of consumers that poultry meat is healthier than others.
At the same time, the trend of increasing chicken exports and decreasing imports in Ukraine will continue in 2025 and 2026. Exports are expected to reorient from the EU to the UK, the Middle East and Africa.
