US to impose 25% tariff on countries doing business with Iran — Trump
US President Donald Trump has announced a 25% tariff on countries doing business with Iran.
“Effective immediately, any country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a 25% tariff on any business done with the United States of America. This order is final and binding,” Trump said.
Anti-government protests in Iran have been ongoing for more than two weeks, despite a crackdown by the authorities. Activists told the Human Rights Activists News Agency that several hundred people have been killed in protest-related violence. Even cities previously considered loyal to the current regime, such as Qom in central Iran and Mashhad in the northeast, have joined the protests.
