Russia has reduced sunflower oil exports by 14% since the start of the season
In the first six months of the current season, Russia reduced vegetable oil exports by 7% to 3.51 million tons, while sunflower oil exports fell by 14% to 2.31 million tons, according to the OleoScope analytical center.
“Vegetable oil exports for the first six months of the 2025/2026 season were estimated at 3.51 million tons, down 7% compared to the same period last season. Sunflower oil exports decreased by 14% to 2.31 million tons during the first six months of the 2025/2026 season, accounting for over 65% of total vegetable oil exports. The main buyers were India (785,000 tons), Turkey (482,000 tons), and Belarus (210,000 tons),” the report stated.
Meanwhile, soybean oil exports for the first six months of the current 2025/2026 season increased by 0.4% to 322,000 tonnes. India (123,000 tonnes) and Algeria (119,000 tonnes) were the leading purchasers of soybean oil from Russia. Rapeseed oil exports increased by 16% to 873,000 tonnes, with over 92% going to China.
Shipments of vegetable meals decreased by 1% to 1.96 million tonnes, while sunflower meal exports decreased by 25% to 1.01 million tonnes. Meanwhile, soybean meal exports increased by 19% to 347,000 tonnes, and rapeseed meal exports by 71% to 569,000 tonnes.
