US corn exports are running 26% ahead of last year
The US continues to increase corn exports in the 2025/26 season. In the week ending August 13, corn export inspections reached 1.9 mln tons, up 8.6% from the previous week and 81.7% from the same period last year.
Since the start of the 2025/26 marketing year, around 81 mln tons of US corn have been inspected for export. This is 26.1% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous season, indicating that US shipments to foreign markets remain strong.
At the same time, soybean export performance remains considerably weaker. In the week ending August 13, soybean export inspections totaled just 270.2 thsd tons, down 34% week on week and 46.3% year on year.
Since the beginning of the 2025/26 marketing year, around 40 mln tons of US soybeans have been inspected for export. This is 18.2% below last year’s level, when inspections had reached 48.9 mln tons by the same date.
Thus, export trends for the two major US crops differ significantly toward the end of the season. Corn shipments continue to run well ahead of last year’s pace, while soybean exports remain notably behind.
