US corn and soybean yields to exceed last year’s figures

Brokerage company StoneX forecasts that the average corn yield in the United States this year will be 188.1 bushels/acre, and the gross harvest – 16.323 billion bushels, the Zerno On-Line agency reports. The average soybean yield will increase to 53.6 bushels/acre, and the gross harvest – 4.425 billion bushels.
According to the July forecast of the US Department of Agriculture, the average corn yield will increase to 181.0 bushels / acre (11.36 t/ha), the gross harvest – to 15.705 billion bushels (398.9 million tons). Last year, these figures were 179.3 bushels/acre and 14.867 billion bushels, respectively.
The USDA estimates the average soybean yield at 52.5 bushels/acre (35.3 c/ha), with the gross harvest at 4.335 billion bushels (118.0 million tons). Last year, the United States harvested 4.366 billion bushels of soybeans with an average yield of 50.7 bushels/acre.
