UK’s largest port handles over 1 mln tons of grains and oilseeds for Bunge
The Port of Immingham, the UK’s largest port by cargo volume, has handled more than 1 mln tons of grains and oilseeds since Bunge and Associated British Ports (ABP) began their partnership in 2022.
The partnership started with the launch of the purpose-built Shed 35 agribulk storage facility at Humber International Terminal. Strong demand later prompted the development of Shed 36, increasing total storage capacity to around 75 thsd tons.
The terminal handles imports of key feed ingredients into the UK, including soybean meal and sunflower meal. At the same time, British feed wheat, malting barley, beans and rye are exported through Immingham.
The expansion strengthens Immingham’s role as one of the UK’s key agricultural logistics hubs, connecting domestic producers and consumers with international markets.
Humber International Terminal is one of the UK’s leading deep-water bulk handling facilities and, in addition to grains and oilseeds, handles biomass and other dry bulk commodities.
