Ukrainian wheat exports entered a period of peak shipments
August wheat exports from Ukraine totaled 3.65 MMT (almost four times more than in July, but 2% less than in August 2020/21). This season’s exports have totaled 4.6 MMT (down 7% y-o-y), UkrAgroConsult reports.
Indonesia, the top buyer of Ukrainian wheat, imported more than 1 MMT in August alone. This season’s purchases have reached almost 1.3 MMT (up 78% y-o-y).
Apart from Indonesia, the following countries also stepped up purchases compared to last season: Turkey (up 3.5 times), Thailand (+46%), Israel (+58%), Ethiopia (up 4 times).
Weaker demand than a year earlier is seen from the following markets: Egypt (-15%), the Philippines (-31%), Tunisia (-34%), Bangladesh (-74%), South Korea (-48%).
