Ukrainian soybean oil exports up 65%
April's soybean oil exports from Ukraine totaled 41.7 KMT that is the highest volume for this month. The country exported a record 207.2 KMT in July-April 2018/19, or 65% more than a year earlier, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The EU remains the biggest importer with a market share of 37%. It boosted purchases by 49% from last year due to rising soybean crush in Ukraine.
In MY 2018/19, Ukraine exported soybean oil for the first time to Rwanda, South Africa and resumed its shipments to countries such as Algeria, Mauritius, Nepal, Tanzania, Tunisia, Estonia and the Netherlands.
Growth in export shipments is registered to major markets, such as: India (+351%), Poland (+51%). A slowdown in shipments is observed to the UAE (-72%), Ethiopia (-49%) and China (-15%).
