Ukrainian seaports handled 11.6 mln tons of grain in the quarter
Ukrainian ports in the first quarter of 2026 fulfilled the cargo transshipment plan by 98%, which amounted to 21.1 million tons.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
“The largest cargo flow traditionally falls on grain — 11.6 million tons of cargo. This once again confirms that Ukraine continues to ensure the world’s food security,” said Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.
In addition to grain, the transshipment of metal products also remains stable — 1.2 million tons.
The container segment demonstrates the highest growth dynamics: over 63,000 TEUs were processed in three months, which is 43.3% more than in the same period last year.
The minister noted that the port industry continues to operate in conditions of significant escalation of security threats and regular shelling. Since the beginning of this year, seaports have been attacked on average every five days, damaging 193 port infrastructure facilities and 25 civilian vessels.
