Ukrainian port terminals to enhance the capacity by 9 mln t in 2020
In the year 2020, six companies in Ukraine are set to increase the terminal grain storage capacity by 9 mln t. This was stated by Konstantin Ilnitskiy, Editor-in-Chief of Ports of Ukraine, at the 5th International Conference "Grain Terminals: New Projects, Equipment and Technologies" in Odesa, Elevatorist.com reports.
"Next year, most of these plans will be implemented because they are not drawn plans, but the already ongoing construction," added Konstantin Ilnitskiy.
Over the past 5 years, the capacity of port terminals in Ukraine has increased from 60 mln t to 85 mln t.
"We count these increases annually. In the year 2019, four new terminals were commissioned. Two terminals have appeared from scratch or practically so," said the Editor-in-Chief of Ports of Ukraine.
In the current year, the following terminals have been put into operation:
Neptune with 5 mln t capacity;
Mykolaiv Grain Terminal — 2.5 mln t;
Risoil Terminal — 1 mln t;
Eurovneshtorg — 1 mln t.
Grain cargo transshipment capacities in Ukrainian seaports increased by 9% y-o-y to about 85 mln t.
