Ukrainian farmers are completing the sowing of winter grains
Agricultural producers of all regions of Ukraine are completing the sowing of winter grain crops. As of the first week of November, 4.3 million hectares were sown, or 90% of the forecast.
- Wheat was sown on 3.6 million hectares, or 91%.
- Barley – 568 thousand hectares, or 84%.
- Rye – 79 thousand hectares, or 92%.
During the previous week, farmers sowed 228,000 hectares of winter cereals. Wheat and barley are grown the most in Odesa – 470,000 hectares and 181,000 hectares, respectively. Currently, Volyn is the leader in rye sowing – 18,000 hectares.
Agrarian farms in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Kyiv, Ternopil and Bukovyna have completed sowing of winter grain crops, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv regions are close to completion.
Sowing of winter rape has been completed in all regions, 999,000 hectares have been sown, or 104% of the forecast.
