Ukrainian apples compete with Italian ones, not Polish ones
Ukrainian producers are increasingly positioning their apples in a higher price and quality segment, focusing on competition with products from Italy and Spain.
This was reported Alena Shchebetakha, export manager of the company “Sady Dnipra”.
According to her, Ukrainian gardeners have already proven their ability to produce products that meet the requirements of foreign markets and are in demand among importers.
“It is the high quality of Ukrainian apples that is in greater demand in foreign markets. When exporting, our company positions its apples closer to Italian and Spanish than to Polish ones,” Shchebetakha noted.
At the same time, she emphasizes that producers need to constantly monitor changes in the world market and take into account the demand for specific varieties when planting new orchards.
According to the expert, the prospects for the industry remain positive. Despite climate risks, war, and logistical difficulties, Ukrainian producers continue to expand exports and work to strengthen their positions in the international market.
“The apple market remains quite strong and provides an opportunity to earn money,” she emphasized.
