Ukraine’s harvest nears completion, but Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions still lag behind
As of January 8, 2026, Ukraine has harvested 76.27 million tons of grains, legumes, and oilseeds, according to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture. While the harvest is largely complete in several regions, a significant portion of late crops remains uncollected in some areas.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, 63.1% of soybeans, 74% of corn, and 78.9% of sunflower fields have been harvested. In Kharkiv region, 76.4% of soybeans, 43% of corn, and 81.7% of sunflower crops have been collected. Zhytomyr region shows the highest completion, with soybeans at 98.7%, corn at 88%, and sunflower at 97.5%.
Across Ukraine, total harvests so far include: 28.66 million tons of corn from 4 million hectares (7.16 t/ha), 9.28 million tons of sunflower from 4.84 million hectares (1.92 t/ha), 4.85 million tons of soybeans from 2.04 million hectares (2.37 t/ha), and 957,100 tons of other grains and legumes from 334,000 hectares.
Harvesting is fully completed in Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Khmelnytskyi regions, while Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv remain the areas with the largest unharvested fields.
