Ukraine’s grain silo capacity grows by half a mln tons in a year
As of the end of 2025, Ukraine’s total grain silo capacity increased to 52.67 million tons of simultaneous storage, up from 52.1 million tons in October 2024, according to Elevatorist.com.
This means that silo capacity expanded by around 0.5 million tons year-on-year, despite infrastructure losses caused by the war and the challenging economic conditions facing the sector.
The growth was driven by the commissioning of new grain silos, expansion of existing facilities, and the implementation of investment projects, largely concentrated in central and western regions of Ukraine.
Top 3 regions by grain silo capacity:
-
Poltava region — 5.575 million tons
-
Odesa region — 5.445 million tons
-
Vinnytsia region — 4.447 million tons
