Ukraine’s 2026 grain harvest exceeds 10.6 mln tons
Ukraine’s harvest of early grains and pulses continues to gain momentum. As of July 28, farmers across all regions had harvested 2.6 mln hectares, or 22% of the forecast area, producing 10.65 mln tons of new-crop grain, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The harvest includes:
- Wheat: 1.532 mln ha harvested (30% of the area), producing 6.61 mln tons with an average yield of 4.32 t/ha;
- Barley: 790,000 ha harvested (53%), producing 3.49 mln tons with an average yield of 4.42 t/ha;
- Peas: 279,500 ha harvested (94.6%), producing 549,500 tons with an average yield of 1.97 t/ha.
The largest volumes of early grain and pulse production have been recorded in Odesa, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions:
- Odesa region: 2.426 mln tons harvested from 586,700 ha, including 1.252 mln tons of wheat, 988,900 tons of barley and 184,700 tons of peas;
- Mykolaiv region: 1.798 mln tons harvested from 514,100 ha, including 1.152 mln tons of wheat, 539,000 tons of barley and 106,800 tons of peas;
- Dnipropetrovsk region: 1.493 mln tons harvested from 376,400 ha, including 1.087 mln tons of wheat, 379,000 tons of barley and 26,800 tons of peas.
Rapeseed harvesting is also progressing. Farmers have harvested 539,600 ha, or 41% of the projected area, producing 1.31 mln tons of rapeseed.
