Ukraine to sign free trade agreement with Serbia
In addition to the EU, Ukraine is working on integration and concluding free trade agreements with the Western Balkan countries. In particular, a free trade agreement with Serbia is planned to be concluded in the coming months.
This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Taras Kachka, during the presentation of the Roadmap for European Integration of the Dairy Sector of Ukraine.
Commenting on the emergence of the Roadmap, Taras Kachka noted that integration into the European Union markets is usually associated with overcoming various types of prejudices towards products. Therefore, the initiative to develop the Roadmap and the active position of dairy associations and producers provide grounds for rapid and high-quality integration into the EU markets.
Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine
Over the past 10 years, the Ukrainian dairy industry has significantly transformed in terms of its orientation towards the EU market and the amount of products exported there. The basis for such success of Ukrainian products on the European market was both the technological approaches of producers and the system of control and legislation in this area. Ukraine will continue such systematic work for a full transition to European rules, but for us it is extremely important that these rules are also supported by the industry, since the harmonious cooperation of the government and the industry depends on how quickly, dynamically and comprehensively dairy enterprises will introduce European approaches to production.
