Ukraine to launch a pilot land reclamation project 2021
In 2022, it is planned to implement the first state pilot project for irrigation and land reclamation in order to increase agricultural productivity.
It is projected to involve 200 Th ha in four regions, which will actually be transferred from the risky farming zone to the zone of sustainable farming.
The government will ensure the development of infrastructure, while businesses will be responsible for acquiring irrigation machines and purchasing water for irrigation from the supplying company.
Ukraine’s potential is over 2 Ml ha of irrigated land, UkrAgroConsult reports.
