The campaign for sowing winter crops has already started in Ukraine. Currently, it is expected to sow 65% of last year’s area – 4.7 million hectares. Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrasevich told about this on the air of the single marathon UArazom.
According to him, the decrease in area is caused by temporary occupation, hostilities and mining of agricultural land.
“Taking into account the latest events regarding the liberation of Ukrainian territories from occupation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we have reasonable optimism that this forecast of 4.7 million hectares will improve,” said Markiyan Dmytrasevich.
Ukrainian farmers have enough seed, he added.
