Ukraine sowed over 12 million hectares of spring grains and oilseeds

The sowing of spring crops is nearing completion. In particular, it has already ended in Poltava and Kirovograd regions. As of the first day of summer, Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5 million 472 thousand hectares of grain and pulses, including
- spring wheat – 269.5 thou hectares
- spring barley – 766.1 thou hectares;
- peas – 136.1 thousand hectares;
- oats – 145.6 thou hectares;
- corn – 3 892.5 thousand hectares;
- buckwheat – 106.1 thousand hectares;
- millet – 46.1 thou hectares;
- other grains and pulses – 109.7 thou hectares.
Last week, the total area under grains and pulses was 193.6 thou hectares.
Sugar beet was planted on the area of 213.1 thou hectares. As for oilseeds, sunflower was planted on the area of 5 042.8 thou hectares, and soybeans – on the area of 1 739.3 thou hectares.
