Ukraine сompletes 2025 sugar production season
On February 1, 2026, Ukraine completed the 2025 sugar production season. Twenty-six plants belonging to the Ukrtsukor Association produced 1.64 million tonnes of sugar. Including one additional plant outside the association, the country’s total sugar output reached 1.72 million tonnes.
This was reported by the association’s press service.
Despite a reduction in sugar beet planted area by 50,000 hectares (–23% compared to last year), sugar production declined by only 4%, or 80,000 tonnes.
“This is primarily due to an increase in sugar beet yields to a historic industry record of 58 t/ha, improvements in technological characteristics, particularly sugar content, which reached 17.6% this year, as well as operational improvements at sugar plants. All these factors offset the impact of reduced planting areas,” said Ukrtsukor Association Chairwoman Yana Kavushevska. “The industry’s sugar yield rate reached 15.17% this year, nearly 1% higher than in 2024.”
The leading sugar producers in the 2025 season remained unchanged:
• Radekhiv Sugar — 32%;
• Astarta — 21%;
• UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO — 15%;
• Teofipol Sugar Plant — 6%;
• ASPIC Group — 5%.
