Ukraine retains leading positions in world ranking of agricultural product exporters

Ukraine took leading positions in the world ranking of largest exporters of agricultural products in 2019, according to the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agrarian Economy” (IAE).

"In 2019, Ukraine retained leading positions in the world ranking of exporters of certain agricultural products. According to latest data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine and the International Trade Center (ITC), Ukraine has traditionally retained the first place for sunflower oil exports. Since 2006, when our country first topped the ranking of exporters of this type of product, selling 1,629 thousand tonnes of oil in world markets, it has increased volumes by 3.7 times. Last year, exports of sunflower oil of domestic production amounted to 6,107,000 tonnes,” reads the statement.

It notes that Ukraine became the second largest exporter of barley, rapeseed, fresh peas, millet, press cake and extracted meal.
