Ukraine remains among top five suppliers of organic products to the EU
Ukraine remains among the five largest suppliers of organic products to the European Union. More than 400 organic operators certified under international standards continue to operate in the country.
More than 300–310 organic operators are included in the national register, while two national certification bodies are also operating. Despite the war, producers continue to export organic products to the European market.
No separate additional funding programme is currently planned specifically for the organic sector. However, organic businesses will be able to use general state support programmes for agricultural producers, particularly in frontline regions.
Available support measures include assistance with business relocation, compensation for infrastructure losses, reimbursement for crops lost due to hostilities, and war-risk insurance for agricultural machinery. Compensation of up to UAH 30 mln is available in case machinery is lost or destroyed.
In addition, from October 18, 2026, the criteria for small agricultural producers to qualify as critical enterprises are expected to be eased. The minimum land area requirement is set to fall from 1,000 ha to 200 ha, while the annual revenue threshold will be reduced from UAH 40 mln to UAH 20 mln.
