Ukraine reaches pre-war levels of grain and oilseed exports
“We saw quite good dynamics [of agricultural exports – ed.] in August. But in September, this figure is much better and it surprised us. We exported our products more intensively. Only through the ports of Odesa in August, we exported 1.7 million tons of products. In September, this figure is 3.8 million,” Marchuk said.
According to him, taking into account alternative ways, in September Ukraine exported a total of 6.9 million tons of grains and oilseeds.
“That is almost 7 million tons. This means that we have reached the pre-war export period. Yes, perhaps not all the ports’ capabilities are involved… But this is also a very good figure. And this dynamics demonstrates the actual fulfillment of Ukraine’s obligations. As an export-oriented state, we show the whole world that all the positions signed in Istanbul are being implemented,” he stressed.
The Deputy Head of the UAC reminded that 100 days of the signed agreement expire on November 19. Marchuk believes that all parties should do everything to extend the agreement: “The intensity mustn’t decrease… It is important for us that the “grain corridor” keeps functioning in winter, summer and spring”.
