Ukraine quadrupled potato exports in a year
Ukraine’s imports of fresh or chilled potatoes in 2021 reached $ 42.25 million, which in monetary terms is three times less than in 2020. This UNN reports with reference to the data of the State Customs Service.
Over the same period of 2020, potato imports amounted to $ 62.72 million, and already in 2021 decreased by 32.64%.
The TOP-3 importers of potatoes to Ukraine in 2021 were Poland (15.72 million dollars), the Netherlands (4.93 million dollars) and Germany (4.07 million dollars). Last year, the leaders were Belarus, the Netherlands and the Russian Federation.
Ukraine exported potatoes worth $ 4.01 million in 2021, which is more than four times more than in the corresponding period last year. So, in 2020, potato exports reached $ 0.87 million.
This year Ukraine sold most of its potatoes to Belarus ($ 3.2 million), Azerbaijan ($ 602.91 thousand) and Moldova ($ 282.4 thousand).
