Ukraine. Profits of agricultural producers dropped in 2019

According to calculations made by the Agrarian Economics Institute, profitability of agricultural production at farms in 2019 hit the lowest since 2006: 7.6% against 22.8% the year before, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The main factors that reduced its profitability include a decline in prices of most major agricultural products along with a rise in their production cost. The revenues in crop growing gained 15.4% with a 32.1% increase in production cost.
Profitability of sunflower seed production in 2019 equaled 22.2% against 32.5% a year earlier, while the respective percentage for soybeans was 2.6% against 21% and that for rapeseed equaled 9.6% against 31.1% last year.
