Ukraine. Precipitation very unevenly distributed over the country
The period of July 21-30 featured extremely hot weather with uneven precipitation (sometimes in the form of downpours, locally with hail). In some fields, this damaged crops and caused their lodging. Hot weather accelerated development of late heat-loving crops.
Precipitation occurred locally, in the form of downpours, being very unevenly distributed over the country.
Elevated air temperatures led to intense evaporation of soil moisture in rained areas, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Weather forecast for August 3-8:
– Precipitation (15-25 mm) in the form of rain with thunderstorms (possibly with hail) is expected in the western and eastern regions. The central, southern and northern regions will receive 25-50 mm. Crop lodging is possible.
– Air temperatures will be +22 … +24°C in the daytime, +12 … +14°C at night in the West; +24 … +26°C in the daytime, +14 … +16°C at night in the North; +28 … +30°C in the daytime, +16 … +18°C at night in the East; +25 … +27°C in the daytime, +15… +17°C at night in Central Ukraine; +29 … +31°C in the daytime, +20 … +22°C at night in the South.
