Ukraine oilseeds 2026/27: Bigger crop, late sowing risks
Article author:
The new MY 2026/27 in Ukraine will see an increase in crop production of vegetable crops due to obvious risks. Spring oilseed planting is progressing slowly due to weather conditions, increasing risks for yields, crop quality, and harvesting timing. At the same time, the balance for major oilseeds remains relatively stable: sunflower has potential for a strong supply recovery, soybeans may maintain a balance between exports and crushing, while rapeseed crushing may reach a new high in the next season.
Late planting remains one of the main seasonal risks, as it may shift critical crop development stages into periods of summer heat and moisture deficit. It may also increase the crop’s dependence on autumn weather and create additional pressure on storage and logistics infrastructure.
