Ukraine. MY 2019/20 is a successful season for corn starch exporters
40.6 KMT of corn starch had been exported from Ukraine since the beginning of MY 2019/20 that is more than twice as much as a year earlier and the all-time high for this period of season, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Corn starch production also rose, to 50 KMT in September-December that is up 67% year-on-year.
All the major importers increased purchases: Indonesia (+50%), Malaysia (+78%), the UAE (+86%), the EU (+124%), Taiwan (+129%).
A substantial gain is observed in demand from Saudi Arabia and China. These two countries purchased minor volumes from Ukraine last year, but this season they are among the top ten importers of Ukrainian corn starch.
