Ukraine maintains high rates of sunflower oil exports
Despite the significant reduction of sunflower stocks in Ukraine, exports of sunflower oil in June remained high and amounted to 476 thsd tonnes, which significantly exceeded the expectations of market participants and 453 thsd tonnes exported in May.
In June, Romania, Turkey and India became the main buyers of the domestic sunflower oil.
In general, in 2022/23 MY Ukraine increased the exports of sunflower oil from 3.8 mln tonnes to 4.7 mln tonnes compared to the same period of the previous season.
The total exports of sunflower oil in 2022/23 MY may reach 5 mln tonnes, as the season is still two months away.
Due to the significant reduction of sunseed stocks in Ukraine, the exports decreased to the insignificant level and amounted to only 1.9 mln tonnes in the current season.
