Ukraine. Law on concession adopted, Kherson port already accepts first applications

Last week, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill #1046 “On concession” in the second reading and in general. Concessions will allow the Government to attract significant private investment to modernize and improve usage efficiency of infrastructure facilities (sea and river ports, roads, airports and other state property), reports UkrAgroConsult.
On October 08, filing of applications for participation in the tender for concession of property of the state enterprise “Kherson Commercial Sea Port” started. According to the Minister, after the decision to determine the winner of concession tender and publishing the tender results (approximately – in early February 2020), the Ministry of Infrastructure will proceed to negotiations and signing an agreement with the preferred tenderer. The conclusion of the contract is planned for early May 2020.
