In January-July 2026, Ukraine imported 2.5 thsd tons of live poultry, including chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowl. Import volumes remained unchanged compared with the same period last year, according to the State Customs Service.

However, the value of imports increased significantly. Ukraine spent $63.6 mln on live poultry imports during the seven-month period, up 10.8% from January-July 2025.

With physical volumes remaining unchanged, the average value of imported poultry increased by approximately 11%. This indicates that imports became more expensive compared with last year.

EU countries remain the main suppliers of live poultry to Ukraine. Hungary accounted for 39.3% of imports, followed by Poland with 19.2% and the Czech Republic with 18.7%. Together, the three countries supplied more than 77% of Ukraine’s live poultry imports.
