Negotiations are currently underway to open markets for the following items: milk, table eggs, fish products, pet food, small cattle, finished beef products, etc.

According to him, further prospects for the development of bilateral partnership between the countries were discussed during his working visit to Egypt, where he met with his Egyptian counterpart Alaa El-Din Farouk and the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of Egypt Sharif Farouk.

The key issue of the meeting was the possible signing of a free trade agreement between the two countries. Koval noted that this would expand the range of trade and strengthen the presence of Ukrainian agricultural products on the African market. In addition, Egypt expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the livestock sector and supplying Ukrainian meat.

The parties also discussed the possibility of using modern technologies to improve the processing and storage of agricultural products, which will help reduce food losses and increase production efficiency.

At the same time, Koval emphasized the existing veterinary and phytosanitary restrictions that affect trade and said that the relevant ministries are working to eliminate them.

The Ukrainian side of the talks was also represented by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine, and Sergiy Tkachuk, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

Ukraine and Egypt are also working to develop cooperation in agriculture, including the possibility of establishing a Ukrainian food supply center in Egypt.
