Ukraine has increased the export of sunflower oil and reduced the supply of sunflower meal in December 2021
About 690 thousand tons of sunflower oil was sold from Ukraine to foreign markets at the end of December 2021. Such data are cited by OilWorld (Germany) analysts in their report. Compared to the same month last year, the export figures of the product increased by 16%.
It is noted that India and the EU countries became the main sales markets for traders in the reporting period, where 291 thousand tons and 219 thousand tons of oil were sent, respectively.
Only 27 thousand tons of products were sold to China in December.
Nevertheless, the total export of Ukrainian sunflower oil from September to December 2021, according to experts, still decreased by 6% compared to the same period in 2020.
The export of sunflower meal in December turned out to be lower than the experts’ expectations and amounted to only 454 thousand tons against 631 thousand tons in December 2020.
“This was due to some logistical problems and led to an accumulation of stocks. Recently, China has again become a key export destination, ”the report says.
