Ukraine. Effective soil moisture available to all crops have come close to optimal amounts
It was cooler than normal on June 1-10, with significant precipitation. The latter reached dangerous severity (with thunderstorms, squall winds, and locally hail) almost all over Ukraine, except for western and partially eastern areas. Lodging of winter wheat and barley was seen in the southern and central regions. Winter, spring and late crops are in fair to good condition. As of June 10, planting of spring grains and pulses was almost complete (99%).
Precipitation of various intensities occurred almost all over the country. Although distributed unevenly, it improved topsoil moisture. 0-100 cm effective soil moisture available to all crops have come close to optimal amounts, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Weather forecast for June 15-20:
– Precipitation (15-35 mm) in the form of rain with thunderstorms (possibly with hail) is expected in the western, central, eastern, and southern regions. The north will receive 5-15 mm;
– Air temperature will be +24 … +26°C in the daytime, +10 … +12°C at night in the West; +24 … +26°C in the daytime, +13 … +15°C at night in the North; +23 … +25°C in the daytime, +14 … +16°C at night in the East; +24 … +26°C in the daytime, +13 … +15°C at night in Central Ukraine; +25 … +27°C in the daytime, +14 … +16°C at night in the South.
