Ukraine drops out of top 10 buyers of EU agricultural products
In January-July 2026, the European Union exported €2.68 bln worth of agricultural products to Ukraine, up €239 mln, or 10%, compared with the same period last year, according to European Commission data.
Despite the increase in purchases, Ukraine dropped out of the top 10 importers of EU agricultural products, falling behind Saudi Arabia, which imported €2.74 bln worth of European goods. At the same time, Ukraine recorded the second-fastest growth in purchases after Egypt, where imports from the EU increased by 22%.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian agricultural exports to the EU remained significantly higher. In the first seven months of the year, the EU imported €6.47 bln worth of agricultural products from Ukraine, up €37 mln, or 1%, year-on-year.
Ukraine retained fourth place among the largest suppliers of agricultural products to the EU. Brazil remained the leading supplier with €11.17 bln, followed by the United Kingdom with €8.7 bln and the United States with €7.7 bln.
Overall, EU agricultural exports in January-July totaled €138.7 bln, down 1% year-on-year, while imports declined by 4% to €108.6 bln.
