Ukraine could supply eggs to the US – opinion

Dmytro Solomchuk, a member of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, is convinced that Ukraine could supply eggs to the United States. He suggested that a government initiative could be developed for this purpose.
“We used to be one of the largest egg producers in the world,” Solomchuk said.
He added that after the full-scale invasion, the volume of egg exports dropped significantly, but now it is beginning to recover. Eggs are primarily exported to the European Union.
“I am convinced that if necessary, Ukrainian farmers would respond and provide eggs to America,” the expert said.
Solomchuk also said that modern technologies make it possible to increase the number of eggs. The expert noted that if the Americans create the right conditions, the export of Ukrainian eggs to their country could be very profitable for both sides.
The expert reminded that there is a government initiative to supply eggs to Africa and the Middle East. It is quite possible to create a similar initiative to supply eggs to the United States.
As a reminder, egg prices in the United States have risen to record highs due to bird flu. The cost of a dozen (12) eggs in stores reaches $7-10.
