Strategie Grains predicts increase in EU wheat and barley harvests
According to forecasts from the consulting agency Strategie Grains, the gross soft wheat harvest in the EU countries in the 2025/2026 season will reach 130.7 million tons, which is 15% more than what was harvested last season.
Good wheat yields are expected in Romania, Bulgaria and Spain. In some countries, hot and dry weather reduced yields, but the quality of wheat is generally good.
The gross corn harvest forecast in the EU has been reduced by 3 million tons to 57.4 million tons (-2% compared to last season) due to hot and dry weather in June.
The barley harvest forecast has been increased by 1.3 million tons to 53.7 million tons (+7%).
