Ukraine continues to export sunseed and soybeans at high rates

- All calculations are based on planted and harvested areas only in the regions under Ukrainian control;
- Data on the harvest 2022 results is preliminary;
- The volume of the “gray” market based on UkrAgroConsult’s expert assessments
- Availability of statistics reports on the rates of oilseed and oilseed product exports.
The oilseeds stocks include sunflower seed, soybeans, rapeseed. Their exports exceed last year’s levels impressively.
Sunflower oil and sunflower meal exports lag behind last year.
The “grain corridor” is the key logistical factor making it possible to realize fully the export potential.
UkrAgroConsult once again revised downward the ending stocks of sunflower and soybean. Despite initial expectations of record high stocks, crushers may face a shortage of oilseeds in June, well before end of the season in August.
UkrAgroConsult’s estimates indicate a stronger position of crushers compared to exporters in the competition for oilseeds in 2023/24 MY mainly due to logistics advantages and shorter payment terms.
