Ukraine complained to Israeli police about buyers of stolen grain
The Embassy of Ukraine in Tel Aviv has filed an official complaint with the Israeli police against the companies Zenziper and Dizengoff Trading, which are accused of importing wheat stolen by the Russians from the temporarily occupied territories.
On behalf of the embassy, complaints were filed with the Lahav 433 crime unit of the police and with the Israeli Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Authority, writes United24. The charges include false declarations regarding the origin of the grain, forgery of documents, fraud and money laundering.
According to the diplomatic mission’s documents, the Dizengoff company received 43.8 thousand tons of grain, of which about 16.5 thousand tons are allegedly stolen wheat, unloaded in the port of Haifa on April 12 from the Abinsk vessel. The scheme involved loading grain in the ports of Berdyansk and Sevastopol onto the Leonid Pastrikov and Fedor vessels, with subsequent transshipment to a large bulk carrier in the Kavkaz anchorage area. The maritime smuggling is coordinated by the Russian supplier Strategic Grain Management, headquartered in Dubai.
Ukraine is also demanding laboratory analysis of samples to detect soil markers characteristic of eastern Ukraine, as well as the seizure of ship documents to uncover a network of fraud.
In response to the accusations, Dizengoff Trading announced the suspension of future orders for Russian wheat, although it denies violating international standards. At the same time, Zenziper refused to unload another suspicious vessel, the Panormitis, which subsequently left the coast of Israel.
