
UkrAgroConsult raising its 2021/22 harvest and export estimates for barley

The pace of barley exports from Ukraine remains impressive: from the beginning of the season Ukrainian exporters sold to foreign markets 50% more barley compared to the same period of the previous year.
Current season features higher exports in their first halves owing to demand from China.
Meanwhile, UkrAgroConsult expects good volumes to be exported from January to June. Therefore, we raise our 2021/22 export estimate at the expense of reduced domestic consumption (in favor of higher feed use of corn and amid a decline in barley processing for food and industrial purposes).
Moreover, we slightly increased the estimate of 2021 barley crop as well.
