UkrAgroConsult confirms its optimistic scenario on the corn market in the 2020/21 season
Despite of strong competitions on the corn market, UkrAgroConsult expects corn export from Ukraine will be close to record at 29.5-30.5 MMT in the next season.
At the same, UkrAgroConsult’s corn area projections are lower than the Government figures by 200-250 Th ha. In the south (where soil moisture is not enough), some corn acreage will be replaced by sunflower. Corn production will be not less than last year.
At present, corn forward prices are 15% lower than the current level. Farmers may partly switch to soybean that is of higher demand both from crushers and exporters.
