Turkey’s lentil imports sustain solid performance

Dec 16/20 – SNS — So far during this calendar year are keeping up their stronger tone, with lentil imports by Turkey jumped compared to the previous month in October, judging from the latest data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Imports totalled 45,209 metric tons (MT) for the month, up 49% from the 30,425 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 500,762 MT, compared to 275,338 in the same period the previous calendar year.
Recent trade data revealed Canada was largest supplier, supplying 34,403 MT in the month. Russia was the second most important export origin selling 5,307 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 4,155 MT.
