Turkey increased Russian sunflower seeds purchases almost tenfold
349.3 KMT of sunflower seed was exported in September-July 2018/19 that is up 277.6% year-on-year. As before, the highest exports in the period under review were seen in MY 2016/17, when shipments to foreign markets totaled some 364 KMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The bulk of sunflower seed exports (59%) went to Turkey, which increased purchases almost tenfold.
In MY 2018/19, Ukrainian exporters opened up the markets of Sudan and Paraguay.
Growth in exports was registered to the following markets: Kazakhstan (+381%), Belarus (+63%), Armenia (+320%) and China (+532%).
A slowdown in exports: Iran (-99%), Azerbaijan (-66%) and Tajikistan (-74%).
