Turkey failed to sell wheat at tender
Today, December 4, the Turkish Grain Committee (TMO) held a tender for the sale of 100,000 tons of durum wheat for export on an FOB basis. This was reported by Reuters.
No deals were concluded in the tender because the prices offered by participants for wheat were too low.
According to traders, TMO set the target selling price at $325-330 FOB.
The highest offer in the first round of negotiations during the tender was made by trading house Viterra at $304.75 FOB for 50,000 tons. In subsequent rounds of negotiations the highest price was offered by Erkan Agro – $312.0 FOB for 50 thousand tons. Erkan Agro was also ready to buy 50 thousand tons of wheat $311.1 FOB.
According to traders, in the final round Viterra offered $311.2 FOB for 25,000 tons, Casillo $311.0 FOB for 50,000 tons. Amber Trading House declined subsequent rounds of price negotiations.
Under the terms of the tender, wheat loading was planned from January 6 to 27 in the ports of Mersin (two shipments of 25,000 tons) and Iskenderun (two shipments of 25,000 tons).
