Tunisia purchases 75 thsd tons of wheat and 50 thsd tons of barley
Tunisia’s state grain agency (ODC) purchased approximately 75 thsd tons of soft wheat in an international tender held on July 30. The grain was bought on a C&F basis, with shipments scheduled between August 25 and September 30, depending on the origin.
The wheat was purchased in three cargoes of 25 thsd tons each. Grainstar sold two cargoes at $286/ton and $289/ton C&F, while a third cargo was purchased at $289.57/ton C&F.
ODC also purchased 50 thsd tons of feed barley in two 25 thsd tons cargoes. The suppliers were CHS at $266.48/ton C&F and Casillo at $269.69/ton C&F. Barley shipments are scheduled between August 25 and September 25.
At the same time, Tunisia maintained its strict requirements for grain suppliers from the Black Sea region. As in previous tenders, suppliers are prohibited from invoking force majeure related to the worsening security situation in the Black Sea if it could prevent contract execution. The importer is therefore continuing its policy of minimizing supply disruption risks amid ongoing logistical and security challenges in the region.
