Trump raised tariffs on China to 125%, but lowered tariffs for all countries to 10% for 3 months
US President Donald Trump has increased tariffs on China to 125%. Trump wrote about this on his social network.
The US leader added that the changes take effect “immediately”.
In addition, Trump reduced tariffs for all other countries to 10% for 90 days.
“Based on the fact that over 75 countries have summoned representatives of the United States … for negotiations to resolve issues related to trade, trade barriers, tariffs, currency manipulation and non-monetary tariffs, and that these countries … have not taken retaliatory measures, I have authorized a 90-day pause and a significantly reduced reciprocal tariff during this period of 10%, which also takes effect immediately,” the US president wrote.
