Trump plans to impose new tariffs on all countries
US President Donald Trump said that the reciprocal tariffs he is going to announce this week will apply to all countries, not just the group of 10-15 countries with the largest trade imbalances. This is reported by Reuters.
The US leader promised to unveil a massive tariff plan on Wednesday, which he called “Liberation Day”. He has already imposed tariffs on aluminum, steel and cars, and has also increased duties on all goods from China.
“Trump sees tariffs as a means of protecting the domestic economy from unfair global competition and as a bargaining chip for better conditions for the United States,” the publication writes.
