U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the start of a full naval blockade of ports in Iran. According to him, the operation began on April 13 under orders from U.S. Central Command and involves restricting access to Iranian ports for vessels from all countries.

The American leader claimed that Iran’s navy has suffered devastating losses during the operation. In particular, he stated that 158 Iranian ships were destroyed, while a small number of high-speed vessels were not targeted as they were not considered a serious threat. Trump emphasized that any attempt to approach the blockade would be met with immediate and forceful action.

The blockade applies to all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. At the same time, U.S. Central Command noted that it would not interfere with navigation through the Strait of Hormuz for ships traveling to and from non-Iranian ports, aiming to avoid a complete disruption of regional trade.

Trump also said that allies of the United States could join the operation, though no country has officially supported the initiative so far. Reports indicate that some nations, including Australia and the United Kingdom, have already declined to participate.

In response, Iran warned of serious consequences, stating that any actions against its ports would pose a threat to all regional harbors. Tensions between the sides continue to rise, and analysts do not rule out further escalation in the Middle East.
